This chapter will focus on good sources of information for local political bloggers. There are many places to go for information, some obvious, some not; some free, some not. For example:
- Major newspapers in your area (e.g. The Boston Globe)
- Smaller newspapers in your area (e.g. The Cambridge Chronicle)
- Other blogs in your area
- Candidate's email lists, blogs and web pages
- Email lists and blogs for advocacy organizations in your area
- Your city or state's voterfile and census data
- Your city or state's budget
- OpenSecrets.org and your state's campaign finance office
This chapter will focus on how to get connected to these sources of information, and also how to sort out the good and bad information.
